old school back workout

Want a big and strong back?! Here’s my #tbt to a classic old school back workout, the kind that never fails and will get you real results! The key here is to feel your muscles contract and use a challenging weight, without going all out or too heavy though, since you should strive for perfect form here! Your grip shouldn’t be too hard and breathing is perfectly paced and controlled, inhaling on the eccentric phase and exhaling during the concentric ??. See the workout below

  1. Bent-over barbell row – 3 sets, 6-8 reps
  2. Seated cable rows – 3 sets, 8-12 reps
  3. V-bar pulldown – 3 sets, 12 reps
  4. Barbell Shrug – 3 sets, 6-8 reps
  5. Hyperextensions – 3 sets, 12 reps

 

The fitness industry has been evolving and growing immensely over the past few years and it is projected to surpass a $60 billion value by 2020. I do embrace and endorse progress as well as the advent of new machines targeting certain muscle groups more accurately, fitness gear and equipment to boost your performance, etc… However I feel like it’s important to remember where we come from and learn from the true pioneers who revolutionize the way we look at fitness and wellness today. They started from where they were, using whatever they had, and eventually found a way to make it happen. This does to show that true determination and the will to conquer your dream knows no boundaries, no obstacle and will take you far even in hostile conditions and during hardship. “Traditional” and “old school” always win and are among the most effective methods for pursuing whatever it is that drives you and ignites the fire inside of you.. WHY?! Because “traditional” and “old school” values and approaches are made of something extremely durable and valuable, something that always passes the test of time and will never go out of style. That something is HEART and PURE, UNTOUCHED, UNBREAKABLE DRIVE AND WILL TO ACT, all of which will change the game when combined altogether.
